2012 Falmouth Little League Player Evaluations will take place on March 7 (Softball), and March 13 and 14 (Baseball).  All players ages 9, 10, 11, and 12 (except for returning Majors players) are required to attend and players will need to bring sneakers and a glove.  (FMI, contact Player Agent, Renée Daniels at FLLPlayerAgent@gmail.com or 838-4424).

Important:  All players must pre-register at www.falmouthlittleleague.net for the 2012 Baseball and Softball Season prior to evaluations.

There have been many questions, anxiety and possibly some misunderstanding about player evaluations. These are not tryouts as there are no cuts in little league. These are simply player evaluations to offer the coaches of AAA and Majors a chance to see the kids and attempt to make equal teams. Coaches know most of the kids from previous years. This allows coaches a chance to see new kids and also see how kids have developed since last season. It is very low-key, non-stressful with great enthusiasm and encouragement for ALL kids.

Also, to clarify, ALL 12-year olds make majors. 11-year olds will either play majors or AAA depending on ability level. Most 10-year olds will play AAA. There are occasionally 10-year olds who are selected to play majors by the coaches. It is then up to the parents (and player) to decide if he/she wishes to play majors or AAA. All 9-year olds will play AAA.

The evaluation night is simple. We get some Falmouth High School baseball and softball players to come over and play catch with the kids, toss them grounders and pop-ups and then take them through some hitting off of the tees. Please let your kids know that there is nothing at all about which to be nervous. If anyone has any questions on this process, please feel free to ask any of our board members.
